Cinfães is the seventh largest council belonging to the Viseu district, west limited by the Douro left river-side. Geographically, is off distanced by the north Montemuro Mountain slope, down to the Douro River, which separates it from Baião and Marco de Canaveses councils; east delimitated by Cabrum River (which also marks the border line with Resende council) and west by Paiva River.

The proximity to the Montemuro Mountain, classified as Natural Park and part of the “Natura Network 2000”, offers a typical mountain’s ridge in all its extension and a permanent fresh texture contributing enormously for a unique astonishing landscape.
